Hi
Im new to chest running and was wondering where is the best place to do chest runs when i want to get some money out of it?
Im doing it for the TH title but still its ok for me if it takes a little longer as long as i get some money out of it instead of doing it rly fast but blowing my money with it.
Im pretty sure this question has been asked before, but i cant find an exact answer to it here and maybe something has changed with the latest updates.
Thanks.

you dont gain money simple as that.
I have opened about 4300 chest, and i got some cool gold i sold for 100k + ectos, but is unlikely i repaid the key/lockpicks cost.

Simple as what?
I wasnt saying how im planning to gain money, but i was asking how to do it.
Im pretty sure that there is a way to make a small profit with chest opening.
The fact that u obiously did it wrong doesnt mean that it cant be done, just that it can't be done by opening just any chest - thats why i was asking which chest i should open.

A novel way of cutting the costs of chest running is to cash in your quartermaster items (imperial commendations, trade contracts, luxon totems, etc.) for keys. You won't get as many keys but it's that many keys you wont have to buy.

Thanks.
But still not what i was looking for.
What i want to know is what chests have (in ur experience) to drop items, that are worth something.
From the chest in some areas there can only drop crap for the merchant since the skins are ugly/common.
But for example i heard of an area, where the chest have a relativley good chanche of dropping inscripable Ethernal items (of course no blades ).
... Thats the kind of stuff im looking for

The best place is probably outside gate of secrets, u get storm bows, ghostly staffs, eternal shields and probably eternal bows too.
All inscribable - but you would probably still lose money :/

opened around 500-600 chests from 360+ picks in gyala got about 25-30 elite tomes so far, lost count
im sure someone posted this before, but ill post my own/similar route in gyala
use shadow of haste when the chests arent within the chest running route path at the designated spots [marked with blue dot] to save time and save yourself from dieing
follow yellow path
oh and yeh when yo get to razorfin [even if u get that far] there can behind a group behind him along with a chest, just wait for his group to patrol away then charge thru and open
green dots = possible chest spawns
approaching oni should have sf up
try avoid outcast while they are engaged with jade sea monsters/luxons as there rits can cast binding chains snare which lasts 30 seconds, which gets annoying
creeping carps are dangerous stay away from them
pretty straight forward enjoy

Hmm, spend a few hours getting my sin into GoS (14 of 20 masters =). with the new perma nerf, it's very slow farming chests there, and 15% of the time deadly in HM. The drops weren't that good, for me at least over ~80 chests... I did get 1 "ethereal" purple earth staff (11 req 17%), and vendored it. It looked pretty kewl, FWIW... No other storm or eternals/etc (1 elite ranger tome)...
Borreal rox - so fast, I love it. Problem is, when you miss a chest 1 run, the next 1-2 runs seem EXACTLY AS BAD. I wonder if the fcn(rnd()) is [not] threaded (like in WoW), and repeat values are re-used a lot - due to server-side load/lag (big problem in MMORPG's that none have addressed yet - sure there's no spin-lock...)...
It's really this simple:
[build=OwBR8Z6ucCqBCAAAAAAAAAA]
Actual build I use for running it:
[build=OwJSg5PT6M4ONQ3lTQ/apZIQ]

Il add some Kurzick Areas when im done.
then move onto NF.. ive alrdy tried RoT and its easy, just try and dodge mobs, if u cant dodge them, use shadow form and run

Is this build still viable for HM Riasu Palce chest runs? Tried the other day on my sin and just got loads of purple or owned by that skill that steals 20 life.

only decent drop in Fow worth trying to sell is chaos axes...and they are a: uninscribable b: not worth more than 50k for a q9 c: quite rare.
not to mention the 1k entrance fee.
so yeah, FoW is NOT a good for cr and never was (except when chaos axes still were going for alot).

Yeah FoW is not the greatest place for chests really but it is at the very least +1 more place to farm chests for titles and +1 place on the map/s for a change of scenery and a lucky drop from a chest is a lucky drop from a chest i suppose...

I have been running through Shadows Passage in HM with my sin, leaving from Dragons Throat. There is a chest everytime avg run time about 1 minute. i usually get 1-5 elite tomes per run. A run would be filling up my first 3 inventory bags so about 30-35 chests. seem to get most of my money back if not a little extra on some of the lucky runs. go through lock picks pretty quick, but like i said gettin more in return.

I found silent surf to be quite profitable. I've gotten Oni blades, jade swords, outcast stuff, and plagueborn stuff. Takes about 6 minutes, you get 4-5 chests and you don't have to perma sin it. I do it with my necro using SF, Deadly paradox, dash mindbender. Although now that it is account based when I finish my drunkard title I will start using a better running character.

A map really isnt needed. You leave from Dragons Throat challenge mission using Shadow's Passage exit. There is only 1 path you can take and end to end its about 1 minute and in my experience the chest is at the far end of the path. The path ends at Bukdek Byway and if you zone right back into Shadow's Passage the chest will be right near Dragon's Throat ( which is actually a good thing because there is a boss there )
